                                 Next Meeting June 23rd

Congratulations to Phil Helpern and crew on winning the 2009 Inshore Shootout. Thanks to All who helped make the tournament a great success. Andrew Raggio once again ran a great tournament with with a huge thank you to the whole Ryan clan for once again hosting a great BBQ (Denise is going right to heaven), also thanks to Sandy (cooking) and a special thanks to Bob Maddocks for all his work setting up.

Junior Championship Tournament


 

ANNUAL JOHN SIDERIS JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

SATURDAY, JULY 11th and SUNDAY, JULY 12th, (6 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

  

TOURNAMENT RULES

 

 1.                   TOURNAMENT – Must be fished on S.S.M.T.C. boats only.  Boat crews must consist of club members, junior members and their guests.  Tournament anglers must be 14 years old and under. 

There is no limit on the number of anglers per crew.  Anglers will fish in EITHER boys division or

girls division.

 

2.                   TOURNAMENT HOURS – (6 a.m. – 5 p.m.)  Fish caught must be weighed in at an official weigh-in station.  Please write “JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP” and BOYS, GIRLS or GUEST division on your weigh-in slip and mail to the tournament director: Mike Kirschenheiter, 41 Percy Williams Drive, East Islip, NY 11730, by Thurs. July 23rd ß this is very important!

 

3.                   PRIZES – ( TWO DIVISIONS – BOYS & GIRLS )  FIRST, SECOND and THIRD place prizes will

be awarded to JUNIOR CLUB MEMBERS for catches of the following fish species:

FLUKE, FLOUNDER, WEAKFISH, BLACKFISH, BLUEFISH, STRIPED BASS,

SEA BASS, SEA ROBIN, PORGIES, BLOWFISH and SAND SHARKS.

? A FIRST PLACE GUEST PRIZE will be awarded for the largest fish caught in each category.

 

4.                   SAFETY – All boats must fly the club flag and carry required life preservers, proper signaling devices, first aid kit, compass, fire extinguishers, etc.

 

5.                   BOAT CAPTAINS – Must submit a crew list, (please print) include SSMTC member, boat name, angler name (member or guest), age and sex prior to the tournament.  Get this info to the tournament director: Mike Kirschenheiter, 41 Percy Williams Drive, East Islip, NY 11730 or call @ (631) 277-1007 or email @ SAMURAI28@optonline.net

 

6.                   COMMUNICATIONS – VHF channel 69 will be used for all announcements and communications between tournament boats.  It is requested that all radio communications be handled in a sportsman-like manner and that foul language be discouraged!

 

7.                   JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS NIGHT – Tournament prizes will be awarded at the August 4th Special Junior Awards Meeting.  There will also be a SPECIAL “FREE” Dark Horse Raffle for all Jr. Championship Anglers.  Refreshments will be served – all club members, parents, guests and friends

are invited.  (Bring your cameras!)
